UK forces Apple to pay an extra £136M tax bill
If I was Apple, I would like to forget the last couple months of my life. Apple has been reeling under one controversy afterward another, and now it seems that 2018 is not going to bring any relief to the company either. Building on its already existing tax woes, Apple has been asked to pay whopping £136M ($184 one thousand thousand) in taxes by the UK government.
Every bit per a report from Financial Times, the Cupertino giant was heavily audited by HM Revenue and Customs, which is the department of the United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland government responsible for the drove of taxes. After the audit, the department of HM Revenue and Customs reported that the increased activity of Apple tree Europe has led to this payment of boosted tax and interest.

Just to be articulate, the tax pecker has been specifically issued for Apple Europe, a London based subsidiary of Apple, which handles all the European marketing operations and provides various back up, marketing, financial, and authoritative services to other Apple subsidiaries in the region.
Co-ordinate to the study by HM Revenue and Customs, during the audit, the department found that Apple Europe was not paid a fair value for the services it provides to other subsidiaries in the region. This led to a lower taxable income report which led to a lower payment of taxes.
Apple has responded to this development and released a statement,
"We know the important role that tax payments play in lodge. Apple pays all that nosotros owe according to taxation laws and local customs in the countries where we operate. As a multinational business and the largest taxpayer in the globe, Apple is regularly audited past taxation authorities around the world. HMRC recently concluded a multiyear inspect of our Great britain accounts and the settlement we reached with HMRC is reflected in our recently filed accounts."
This is the second time Apple has come under burn for evading taxes merely in a couple of months. Although the company keeps on reiterating that it is the highest tax payer in the world, it still tin can't seem to relieve itself from being audited by different authorities. Only the hereafter will tell if the company is ready to go its books correct or prefer paying these tax penalties. That said, I would love to hear your thoughts on the field of study so make sure to drop them downward in the comments section below.
