Seeking advice on removing a chipped tile.

And so I am seeking some concluding minute advice on removing and replacing a chipped tile. The tile throughout our house is very nice and looking at this alone chipped tile is driving me crazy.

The tile is 24x24 porcelain layed over cement. I've watched some youtube videos and read a few forums on John Bridge and it doesn't seem besides difficult. I've tiled a few bathrooms before so I am comfortable with working with thinset.

Any last minute advice? Thanks

Do't endeavour to pry it against the surrounding tile or y'all will chip them too

I'd probably patch and colour in offset. Yous can always remove the tile if that doesn't await adept enough. I e'er seem to damage surrounding tile trying to remove the thinset and and so you take to worry almost the grout matching in one case it dries.

level two

I have a like state of affairs. Couple patches in the tiles, doesn't match 100%, only y'all don't notice it 95% of the time. No risk, low cost.

level ii

I'd probably patch and colour in first.

More information please? How is patching and coloring accomplished? What products to utilise?

level 1

Dust protect, run a cutting cycle through the grout to prevent force from being applied to neighboring tiles, bust up the bad one, chisel down the mortar bed (don't have to get information technology clean). Clean upwards the grout perimeter and lay the new tile.

level 1

I'deave it alone. You'll probably bit the others in the process. The grout color might not match exactly due to clothing, and you might non go the same bonding. It's a tiny chip.

level ane

You will have to hit the peak center of the tile with a hammer and chisel to try and break the tile. Then once you have a spot in the center to work from, yous tin utilise the chisel and hammer to piece of work from the inside out of the tile. Just exist certain not to go too far with your chisel and break another tile in the process.

level 2

A mini sledge hammer would piece of work well actually too if you only lightly hitting the center of the tile, I bet about of it would pop out right there

level 1

Nope, no need to remove the grout first. Once you get the tile cleaved out you will have to chisel off all the excess thinset and the grout. But worry almost getting the tile out first :)
